What is SEO?

Search Engine Optimization, commonly abbreviated to SEO, is the process of bringing in high-targetted traffic to a website or a web page from search engines, such as Google or Bing. SEO generates “free” organic traffic bringing leads directly to your front door, inbox, or voicemail.

I pride myself on my ability to consistently provide more value than the cost of my SEO services. I have a long history of thousand of online successes, and I expect to get you the results you are ready to start achieving.

SEO is a marathon, not a sprint. So, if we are going to be working together, I want to make sure that both you and I are excited about your project. There are no empty promises or over-exaggeration; if I take your business on it’s because I believe we can make it even more successful together.

What does an SEO Consultant do?

A search engine optimization (SEO) consultant is a highly-experienced digital marketer who specializes in improving search engine results with the overall goal of increasing organic traffic to improve the number of potential clients or sales for a business.

This can further be broken down into a variety of different SEO tactics and strategies including but not limited to backlink profile building, on-page optimization, SEO audits, website tracking, technical SEO, content marketing, local SEO, schema, and much more.

The important thing for you to know as a business owner is what are the main responsibilities and what should you consider when choosing an SEO Consultant to work with.

Any SEO that is worth their salt will focus on three main goals:

  1. Improving Rankings on Search Engines
  2. Increasing Organic Traffic to Website
  3. Growing Revenue through Improved Client Leads or Sales

Is SEO important in 2020?

Organic search and the usages of search engines remain one of the most important digital channels for getting in front of new clients. According to a study by Brightedge:

Organic and paid dominated web traffic in 2019. Optimizing your pages for SEO is going to be even more important in 2020 as organic search continues to rise above other search traffic.

In my personal experience working with clients, it all depends on your business and what you are looking to put out into the world. If you are a service-based business, SEO is not only important, but it will be your bread in butter. A service-based business that has a healthy search engine presence tends to bring in 70-90% of their revenue comes from organic search.

If you are an ecommerce business, then it depends on your product. The easiest way to know if SEO is important for your business is to shoot me a ring or an email, and set up a free marketing consultation.

What does SEO cost in 2020?

There are two different types of costs associated with SEO: hourly work and monthly managed.

SEO is very similar to a good fitness regime, it’s never quite over. It takes consistent effort to keep and improve upon rankings on search engines such as Google. That is where the monthly managed SEO plans come in. On average, a good SEO who can get you stellar results will charge you anywhere from $1000-$5000/month. Remember, the return on investment should always be worth it. So only hire professional SEO Consultants or Agencies that have gotten results for clients in the past.

So when should you hire an SEO for hourly work? I would recommend doing this if you don’t have enough profit to cover the cost of a full marketing campaign. The idea is to start seeing some results, land some clients or sales, and use the profits to reinvest in the business. A good SEO Consultant or Agency will be anywhere from $150-$300/hour. Once again, make sure to only hire an experienced individual or team that can make the investment more than profitable for your business.

SEO Consultant vs Agency: Which is a better choice for you and your business?

There is no right or wrong answer to this question, only what works best for you. I am unquestionably biased as I am an SEO Consultant. In general, if you like having a more personal relationship with your marketer, then consider a consultant. If you want to be more hands-off, then consider an agency.

I wrote a more comprehensive breakdown of this subject so you can better choose which is better for you and your business here.
